NEW ZEALAND

Hey Yall!

So to start off with....ALEX(my brother) got his mission call to NEW ZEALAND! He leaves November 5th, and going to the NEW ZEALAND MTC! I am so excited for him and his wonderful opportunity to help serve the Lord! One proud sister right here! #missionsiblings

This week was transfers...I'm staying in Long Beach with Sister Winkel! I am so excited to get the opportunity to learn so much more from her! It was great because on Saturday you get the call from either President (you're leaving) or the AP's (you're staying) so everytime the phone would ring we would have a mini heart attack. The time finally came and President called...but he said we were staying together, he just needed to talk to Sister Winkel. So we're staying in Long Beach!

This week was also zone conference. It was kind of different because this was the last one for my mission president before he goes home, so it was a lot of goodbyes and pictures...but I was able to learn more about becoming a Christ like missionary:)

This last week we were out tracting with a member...were down this sketchy street, but everyone was really nice. As we're walking down the street we realize that one of the houses was really catholic. I mean the brick walls even had crosses in it!  So we knock...and then we realize....it was a church! #awkward We then walked away feeling very foolish but now the member always says "remember that one time we knocked on a church?" I guess it makes for great laughs/memories:)

We have an investigator that is progressing really well! She loves reading the Book of Mormon and loves the members we bring to teach with us...but she has a husband who is paralyzed and she cant leave him for more than an hour. This is a problem because he doesnt want to be any where near the church. So she isn't able to come to church because she cant leave him and he wont come. We are kind of at a standstill with them...but with the Lords help all things are possible! My mission has really opened my eyes to see how much the Lord really does play in our lives...not just as a missionary but a normal everyday life.

Life is going well and I am loving the work! Hope everything is going great for yall!

Love ya,
Sister Ashley Durtschi
Get to stay with this crazy girl for another 6 weeks:)
